Sunday School

Every Sunday morning at 10 AM (the same time as our weekly Sunday church services), volunteer church members teach Sunday School classes as part of our youth ministry. Children up to the age of 20 learn about the Bible and the life of Christ Jesus, along with their explanations in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Special emphasis is given to the moral standards of the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. We also provide childcare for very young children.

What to Expect

Sunday School begins and ends with singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal. Sometimes the students themselves provide instrumental accompaniment. We then read the opening section of the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson. After a brief time for silent prayer and the Lord's prayer, we break into different classes based on age group. The subject for the Bible Lesson for the week prior to June 25, 2017 is: "Christian Science."

Students are taught from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, which is a companion book that explains the Bible. Students are encouraged to ask whatever questions they may have about life, God, Jesus, or anything. Our teachers are eager to share meaningful Scriptural insights to help strengthen and fortify students as they develop an enriched relationship with God.

Who We Are

Anyone and everyone under the age of 20 is welcome and in our Sunday School. We have a lively and thoughtful group of young men and women who comprise our Sunday School. If you are considering visiting our church (we hope you do!) and have children who are under the age of 20, you and your children will be warmly welcomed in. Our students have a diverse set of talents and interests, and we try to encourage our students to achieve their best as they grow in grace with God each day.

About Christian Science

Christian Science, as discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, refers to the universal, practical system of spiritual, prayer-based healing, available and accessible to everyone. It is fully explained in Eddy's primary text on spirituality and healing, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
